The Job: The Sr. Financial Analyst will coordinate and manage ongoing financial planning activities, as well as ongoing financial analyses, with an emphasis on Data Analytics, and projections in the areas assigned. This includes regular meetings with division/department staff to review budget reports and summarize results for management review.
Responsibilities:
- Develop multi-year projections, annual budgets, and rolling forecasts with the financial planning team.
- Analyze multi-dimensional financial data, finding ways to reorganize information to communicate financial insights to different audiences. Work with large data sets, synthesize insights, and present recommendations.
- Leverage data analytics tools, including Power BI, to create dashboards and reports to be distributed to leadership teams and museum wide.
- Create daily revenue projections for the year, using historical data, planning assumptions, and external research as needed.
- Manage the status of discrepancies, additional research and further analytical needs identified during the regularly scheduled budget meetings.
- Support pricing & revenue strategy development with deep analytical dives into internal historical data, and external research as needed.
- Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis.
- Support the preparation of quarterly Finance Committee financial packages. Coordinate and prepare financial analysis on potential temporary exhibits, programs, and other functions within the business operations.
- Act as system administrator of the financial software platform, managing reports, templates, workflows, document stores, and user privileges.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with six (6) to eight (8) years of related experience. Public accounting experience or MBA are a plus.
Data analytics experience using Power BI, SQL, or other solution to develop dashboards and reports area are a plus.
Experience with multi-dimensional analytical systems and Enterprise Performance Management/Corporate Performance Management software systems is required.
Non-profit experience in finance or accounting is a plus.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail while working across a wide variety of projects is absolutely necessary.
Must be eager to work in a collaborative team environment and able to adapt well to different communication styles.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and change priorities as needed.
Must be able to see the big picture and translate into required responsibilities.
Advanced Excel financial modeling skills required.
Ability to partner, present and communicate financial data with business leaders to support the budgeting & forecasting process.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.

- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Reasoning:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Physical:
- The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, and move around.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
